20th Century California

Hello to students and parents!

We will begin 2nd semester by spending a brief number of days with the geography of the United States. Students will learn some basics such as states, major cities, bodies of water, and mountain ranges of the U.S. Next, we will spend additional time with the geography of California! Students will learn about California's geography, such as bodies of water, mountain ranges, major cities, counties, highways, and regions. Our study of California history will begin with a brief review of pre-1900 California. This will include subjects such as Native Americans, the Spanish Period, the Gold Rush, the Mexican-American War, etc...). After this review, we will focus on California's History in the 20th century. This will include the study of Politics, Government, the Great Depression, World War II and Enviromental studies, just to name a few.
