2nd Semester Begins! Welcome to California History in the 20th Century
Hello everyone! Now that semester 1 is completed, now it's time for semester 2. That means California History in the 20th Century begins today!
Welcome to California History in the 20th Century! This is a one-semester course designed to give students a basic understanding of California from a historical perspective, with an emphasis in 20th century history.
First, students will learn about California's geography, such as bodies of water, mountain ranges, major cities, counties, highways, and regions. Our study of California History will begin with a review of some major events of pre-1900 California. This will include subjects such as Native Americans, exploration, the Spanish Period, the Gold Rush, and the Mexican-American War. After this review, we will focus on California's History in the 20th century. This will include the study of Politics, Government, the growth of Southern California, the movie industry, the Great Depression, World War II, post World War II, and Enviromental studies, just to name a few.
It should be a fun and interesting semester! Check back daily for assignments, quiz and test announcements, and extra credit.
