Tonight's Homework:

Refer to your map of Australia and New Zealand, which you completed in class today.

Copy and answer the following questions:

1. Name the two bodies of water connected by Cook Strait

2. Name the two bodies of water connected by Bass Strait

3. In what state or territory would one find the most desert area?

4. Where is the mouth of the Murray River? How about the source of the Murray River?

5. Why do you suppose Australia is called the "land down under?" (think about this answer for a few minutes----refer to your map----guess if you have to----you will not be marked off for guessing or simply stating that you don't know---I just want you to think for a few minutes and put some of your knowledge of geography thus far to work in a practical sense.
