Extra Credit Oportunities for Middle/South America

The following are extra credit assignments that all relate to Middle or South America. All of my students are welcome to complete any or all of the extra credit assignments. Please follow the instructions and be sure to ask me if you have any questions! Check this site often as I will be adding more assignments frequently!

1. Pretend that you will take a flight to a country in Middle or South America. Create a flight itinerary to your country. First, choose a country you want to travel to. Then, check airline flights to that country. What airline will you fly? What city will you leave from and fly in to? How much will your airline ticket cost? What are your flight numbers and what are the flight times? Once you are in your country, maybe you want to fly somewhere else within the country. Again, create a flight itinerary for your intra-country vacation as well.

2. Choose a country or countries in Middle or South America. Research to find any famous people who are from the countries. Your list of famous people might include sports stars, celebrities, politicians, inventors, or anyone else famous! Write down the names of the people, the country they are from, and why they are famous.

3. Soccer is a very popular sport throughout Middle and South America. The World Cup is the most popular soccer tournament in the world, and it occurs every four years. Research which Middle or South American countries have won the World Cup, and which countries took second place (runner-up). Your list should include the countries and the years of the World Cup.
